Community Building is available for rent with 100 person gathering limit!
Next City Council meeting is Thursday, January 4th at 7pm City Hall.
Meetings are the first Thursday of each month!
RV Sites
Sites have water, electricity, and sewer hook ups. Rates are $15.00 per day. Sites available by contacting City Hall to book and pay for site!
Community Building
Rental is available by contacting City Hall, completing rental agreement and submitting payment. $50 deposit required plus $50 for up to four hours rental and $100 for over four hours. Deposit is refundable if building is left in good order. Big screen TV available when renting building which requires an additional $50.00 deposit. Building not available weekend before an election and New Year's Eve. No pets allowed.
Monthly City Newsletter
Letter is distributed with city bills. News & updates can be added monthly. Contact: Linda Woods (620) 699-3883 by middle of preceding month at: ggmawoods@gmail.com.
Reading City Park
Features a ball diamond, basketball court, shelter house, modern playground equipment, horseshoe pits, gazebo as well as a 9- hole disc golf course.
Recycling Trailer
Recycling trailer is parked in front of the school on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays each month. If the 1st of the month falls on a Wednesday or Thursday, then it's there on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. There are bins for newspaper, magazines, junk mail, #2 plastic, color plastic like detergent bottles, cardboard, tin cans, milk jugs, pop bottles, clear and colored glass containers. 2023 Dates for recycling trailer:November 9th, 22nd, & 27th; December 7th & 21st. Please check to be sure trailer is on location before loading up your recycling.
Drop-Off Recycling Options in Emporia
Many items can be recycled at drop-off locations throughout town. Some of the more common items are listed below.

Salvation Army or Goodwill.

. Yard waste to the City landfill/Transfer
station

Trash is picked up every Friday morning.
Please have your trash out by 7:00 a.m.
